Professor Walter Bartl

Prof. Walter Bartl, is currently lecturer at institute of sociology, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. He is also the President of sociology of Population (RC-41) of International Sociological association. He was a Visiting Fellow at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Université de Genève and the University of Edinburgh. His areas of expertise include societal responses to demographic change, the use of numbers in politics, governance of education and academic knowledge transfer.

Prof Maitrayee Chaudhury

Prof. Maitrayee Chaudhury is the current president of Indian Sociological Society (ISS). She is a Professor of Sociology (Retd.) at Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She holds expertise in areas like gender, media, pedagogy and the practice of sociology in India. Her recent works have looked at the making of public discourse in contemporary India shaped by neo-liberalism and majoritarianism.

Prof A.K. Sharma

Prof A.K. Sharma is a Professor of Sociology (retd.) in IIT Kanpur, India. He has Thirty five years of teaching and research experience at IIT Kanpur. He has been a consultant for various national and international organizations on issues such as family planning, HIV, panchayati raj and evaluation of development programmes (monitoring and evaluation). He has also been associated with international Union of Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) Indian Association for the Study of Population (IASP)

Professor Bali Ram

Prof. Bali Ram is an adjunct Research professor at university of Carleton and western University, Canada. After 34 years of his employment with Statistics Canada, Dr. Bali Ram retired in October 2009. At Statistics Canada, he held positions of Chief, Demographic Characteristics Section and Senior Research Advisor, Demography Division. Dr. Ram was President of Research Committee on Sociology of Population, International Sociological Association during 2003-2006 and President of the Federation of Canadian Demographers during 1999-2002.

Professor Sanghmitra S. Acharya

Prof.Sanghmitra S. Acharya is a Professor and Chairperson at the Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health, School of Social Sciences JNU, New Delhi. She has been a Visiting Fellow at CASS, China, Ball State University, USA and UPPI, Manila, East-West Center, Honolulu, Hawaii and the University of Botswana. She was awarded the Asian Scholarship Foundation fellowship in 2005.

Professor Anand Kumar

Prof. Anand Kumar is a Retired Professor of Sociology at Centre for the Study of Social Systems,School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has also taught in Banaras Hindu University from 1979 to 1989 before joining JNU in 1990. He did his Ph.D from University of Chicago. His areas of specialization include political sociology, media and communication and social thought and globalization

Professor R.B. Bhagat

Prof. R. B. Bhagat is Former Professor and Head, Department of Migration and Urban Studies, International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai. He was a recipient of UGC Research Award during 2002-03. Prof Bhagat was actively associated with Working Group on Urbanisation set up by International Union for the Scientific Study of Population, Paris, (IUSSP).

Lorretta Favour Chizomam Ntoimo

Dr. Lorretta Favour Chizomam Ntoimo is the secretary of RC-41 (Sociology of Population) of International Sociological Association, ISA). She is a Sociologist/Demographer with years of experience in teaching and research. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Demography and Social Statistics at Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria.

Prof. Arvind Mohan

Prof. Arvind Mohan is currently the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Lucknow University. He is a professor of Economics in Lucknow University, India. with specialisation in development economics. He has worked as a consultant/team leader for World Bank, UNDP, UNICEF, etc. He was invited by American Government through its Ambassador as International Visitor. He also holds the experience of guiding UN interns from ivy league institutions like Harvard, MIT Universities of Columbia, Sussex, Melbourne etc.

Prof. Suresh Sharma

Prof Suresh Sharma, Head, Population Research Centre, Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), Delhi has 29 years of research experience. He specializes in the areas of reproductive and child health, family planning, and population studies. He has authored Seven Books, published several research articles in international journals on population and health issues, and more than 197 districts report under RCH project and NRHM. He was director in Large Survey: (RCH) and (NFHS), funded by (MoHFW, GOI), India.

Professor D.R. Sahu

Prof D.R. Sahu is currently the Head, Department of Sociology, Lucknow University, India. His areas of specializations are Development, Gender, Movement Studies & Social demography. He is the ex-secretary of Indian Sociological Society and has conducted many action projects and extended consultancies to CARE, UNICEF, Govt. of U.P., Govt. of Chattisgarh, Govt. of Odisha, Govt. of India, HPCL, NABARD, IGSSS, CRS, North, RUPCHA and SIEMAT.

Prof Sampson Lee Blair

Dr. Sampson Lee Blair is a family sociologist and demographer at The State University of New York (Buffalo). He has served as Chair of the Children and Youth research section of the American Sociological Association, as senior editor of Sociological Inquiry, Guest Editor of Sociological Studies of Children and Youth, and on the editorial boards of Asian Women, Journal of Applied Youth Studies, Journal of Divorce and Remarriage, Journal of Family Issues, Marriage and Family Review, Social Justice Research, Sociological Inquiry, International Journal of Criminology and Sociology, and Sociological Viewpoints.

Professor Dorina Rosca

Prof. Dorina Rosca is a lecturer-researcher at the American University of Moldova. She is the President of RC09 – Social Transformation and Sociology of Development, International Sociological Association (ISA). She is also the President of the European Institute for Development Studies. She specialises in areas like change in socio-economic systems and dominant forms of economic integration, social capital, private solidarity, social networks, network theory and International migrations.

Professor Helena Helve

Prof Helena Helve is a Professor emerita of Youth Research at the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Tampere, Finland. She has been a professor for Master's Programme of Youth Education at Kuopio University and for the M.Α. European Youth Studies (Μ.Α. EYS) Curriculum Development Project. She was a chair of the Executive Board of the Finnish University Consortium YUNET (2007-2012) on Youth Research studies coordinated by Helsinki University, where she is as an Adjunct Professor of Sociology and Comparative Religion. She has been the Vice president of EASR (2000-2007) and President of the ISA RC 34 (2002-2006) and President of the Finnish Youth Research Society (1992-2005). She has extensive experience in several international and national research projects management. She has published widely about her work.

Prof Ulrike Schuerkens

Prof Ulrike Schuerkens is a university professor in sociology and social anthropology at Université Rennes 2, France. She is a specialist of social changes, globalization, and glocalized transformations in the South, and in particular in Africa South of the Sahara. She is the coordinator of ManaGlobal, a RISE project financed by the European Community. She is ex-co-president of RC-09 (Social Transformations and Sociology of Development) of the International Sociological Association (ISA).

Professor Jayanathan Govender

Prof Jayanathan Govender, a senior lecturer, teaches Industrial, Organizational and Labour Studies at the School of Social Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Durban, South Africa. His areas of expertise include civil society, interdisciplinary studies, BRICS sociology, sociological practice, and futures research. He has published on topics in public management, participation, higher education, social policy, inequality, and social justice.

Professor Shweta Prasad

Prof Shweta Prasad is the current secretary of Indian Sociological Society (ISS). She is a professor at Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, India. She is also the former convener of RC-10 ‘Gender Studies’ of Indian Sociological Society (ISS). Her areas of specialization include Gender, Environment and Climate Change. She has done a number of consultancies and projects for the World Bank, Gail India Ltd., USAID, UGC, Melinda Gates Foundation, etc.

Professor Natalia Waechter

Prof Natalia Waechter is a Professor of Pedagogy at the Institute for Educational Sciences, University of Graz, Austria. She is the treasurer/executive board member of the Sociology of Youth(Research Committee 34), International Sociological Association (ISA) and editorial member of the Austrian Journal of Sociology and of Emerging Adulthood. Her areas of expertise include youth research (young people’s lives online and offline)education andsocial inequality, empirical social research, migration research and studies on ethnic minorities.

Prof. Indira Ramarao

Dr. R. Indira, Professor of Eminence in the School of Social Sciences, M.S. Ramaiah University of Social Sciences, Bengaluru was formerly a Professor of Sociology and Director of the International Programs at the University of Mysore. She currently holds the Visiting Professorship of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Chair at the University. She is the former President of the Indian Sociological Society and has received from the Society, the Lifetime Achievement Award conferred on distinguished sociologists for their outstanding contribution to the discipline of sociology in the country and the Dr. B. R. AmbedkarMooknayak Award from the Karnataka Media Academy for her columns in Kannada media on the situations of marginalised groups.

Professor Vivek Kumar

Prof Vivek Kumar is a world-ranking Sociologist and a Public intellectual. He is a Professor and was Chairperson of Centre for the Study of Social Systems, School of Social Sciences, JNU, New Delhi and was visiting Prof, Columbia Univ. New York & Humboldt, Berlin.He holds expertise on areas like Methodology of Social Sciences, Sociology of Marginalized Sections, Sociology of Indian Diaspora and Sociology of South Asia.

Dr. Surya Prakash Upadhyay

Dr. Surya Prakash Upadhyay is an Associate Professor and distinguished faculty member in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Mandi. He also worked as Co-ordinator, e-PG Pathshala course titled “Sociology of Urban Transformations. His work spans various areas within the social sciences, focusing particularly on Sociology and Social Anthropology. His research interest includes Sociology of Religion, Urban Studies, and Post Reform India.

Prof Rajesh Mishra

Prof Rajesh Mishra is Former Head, Department of Sociology, Lucknow University and Ex Head and Director of JK Institute of Human Relations. He was also the former secretary of Indian Sociological Society (2011-2013). His areas of specialization include Sociological Theory, Sociology of social change and Development; Society, Economy and Polity of Uttar Pradesh and Sociology of Class and Movements. He has also served as an expert member of various committees of universities and government.

Prof Jaya Shrivastava

Prof Jaya Shrivastava, is Head of Department of Sociology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow. Her work spans various subfields of sociology, with a special focus on contemporary social issues such as gender studies, Social Gerontology, Human Rights and Social Justice, and Research Methodology. With an extensive academic background, she has contributed 21 years to teaching and research, mentoring numerous students and scholars.

Prof. Anand Singh

Prof. Anand Singh is a prominent anthropologist at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. His research and teaching interests primarily lie in migration., Diaspora Studies, Anthropology of Development, Sustainable Development, Medical Anthropology, and Urban Anthropology, with a special emphasis on the South Asian diaspora in Africa and global migration patterns. He also served as a Convenor for the Commission for Migrant and Diaspora Studies, IUAES.

Prof. Ajit Kumar Singh

Prof. Ajit Kumar Singh is a distinguished development economist and the former Director of the Giri Institute of Development Studies, Lucknow. He has been the faculty of economics at University of Lucknow and RML Avadh University, Faizabad. He was a member of Second State Finance Commission, UP, Committee on Unfinished Agenda on Land Reforms in India appointed by the Ministry of Rural Development Government of India, 2008. Additionally, Prof. Singh has engaged in research on the agrarian structure and agricultural growth in Uttar Pradesh.

Prof. Sanjay Singh

Prof. Sanjay Singh is the Director of the Giri Institute of Development Studies (GIDS), Lucknow. His areas of specialization are Indian Sociology, Sociology of Politics, Sociology of Law, Rural Studies, and Democratic Decentralization. He is a member executive in the Ethnographic and Folk Culture Society, Lucknow, India. He was the Convener of the Research Committee (RC-07) on Adivasi and Tribal Studies of the Indian Sociological Society. He is Visiting Faculty at various Institutes and Universities. He is also a member of the Governing Council, Academic Council, and Board of Studies of various universities and Institutes.

Prof Neel Mani

Prof Neel Mani Prasad Verma is a distinguished professor and former Vice Chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, India. He was the First Director of the Centre of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy of UGC program. He is the recipient of Indian Icon Award conferred by NHRO, Delhi in December 2021 for academic leadership. He has been Chairman of several statutory committee such as Board of Management, Finance Committee, Academic Council, School Board, Board of Studies, and Research Degree Committee.

Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan

Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Malik is Former Dean, Social Sciences and Professor of Sociology at Ambedkar School of Social Sciences, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. He holds specialization in Poverty and Social Exclusion Sociology of Ecology and Environment; Sociology of Dalits and Ambedkar Studies; Sociology of Poverty and Economic Deprivation. He has 25 years of teaching experience.

Dr. Naresh Kumar

Dr. Naresh Kumar is Professor & Chairperson at Centre for Diaspora Studies (Independent Centre), Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. His major research contributions center around the themes of Migration (Internal/International), Indian Diaspora & Development, Issues of emigration/Immigration, Migration and Diaspora Governance. He has coordinated international conferences on migration.

Prof. Sukant K. Chaudhury

Prof. Sukant K. Chaudhury is a former Professor in the Department of Sociology at Lucknow University. His areas of specialization are Indian Sociology, Sociology of Environment, and Tribal and rural Studies. He has organized two International Conferences and Seventeen National Seminars and Conferences. He is the General Secretary of Ethnographic and Folk Culture Society and Vice President of Indian Anthropological Association. He is Vice President of RC-13 of International Sociological Association and Editor of E-News Letter, Member, Managing Committee, Indian Sociological Society. He was also the convenor, RC-07 on Rural, Tribal and Peasant Communities.

Dev Nath Pathak

Dev Nath Pathak is an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Sociology at South Asian University, Delhi. He has authored Living and Dying: Meanings in Maithili Folklore (2019), In Defence of the Ordinary: Everyday Awakenings (2021), and many curatorial and edited books. He is also a founding editor of the popular public space on YouTube, Galp Lok. He is reviews editor of the journal, Society and Culture in South Asia (sage) & editorial member of Journal of Human Values (Sage).

Prof. Paramjit Singh

Prof. Paramjit Singh Judge is Former Professor at the Department of Sociology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He was the editor of Sociological Bulletin: Journal of the Indian Sociological Society (2016 - 2020), SAGE, New Delhi. He was also the Treasurer of, Indian Sociological Society between 2014 – 2015, and also the member of the Managing Committee, Indian Sociological Society (2012-2017). His academic interests include Political Sociology of Social Movements and Social Change, Diaspora Studies, Dalits and Social Exclusion, and classical Sociology.
